About Dave W. Murray
I graduated from Mount Whitney High School and College of the Sequoias, both in Visalia, California. I graduated from California State University Fresno, attended Arizona State University for a year, and then returned to CSU Fresno to take teaching courses. I taught sixth grade at Pioneer Union Elementary School in Grangeville, now a suburb of Hanford, CA. I earned my Masters in Education degree from Pepperdine University.
I met a friend of my sister who became my high school sweetheart, and we married after I graduated. We have one wonderful son.
For 26 years, I taught in Grover Beach, CA, at Grover Heights Elementary School, grades 4, 5, and 6, as well as combinations of grades, and retired in 1992. During the next eight years, I sold insurance and worked as the manager of a shoe store.
We moved to Sacramento, California and now I work as a tour guide with the California State Parks. I have worked at the California State Indian Museum and three historic state parks: Sutter’s Fort, the Governor’s Mansion, and the Leland Stanford Mansion.
Here on my blog, you will see that my major interests are writing, reading, history, and photography. I have many minor interests, but I’m always doing the four I mentioned.
